RSS, which stands for 'Really Simple Syndication'’, is an XML based web content sharing and distribution protocol that is widely used on web sites of news organizations, blogs, and just about any type of continually updated information site.

Typically, RSS data can only be accessed by manually navigating to each individual site using an RSS enabled web browser or RSS reader application.

RSS Data Fully Searchable
The SCC MediaServer RSS Module continuously and automatically monitors multiple sites. RSS content is retrieved, interpreted, and inserted into one or more MediaServer libraries, making it accessible to SCC clients via the same sophisticated search and retrieval techniques available for other MediaServer content. Each RSS record in MediaServer contains a web link back to the full content referred to in the original RSS item.

The result is that, along with all other stored multimedia content, headlines, text, photos, graphics and media files from multiple RSS sites automatically appear on SCC MediaGrid and SCC web client screens as soon as the content becomes available at each host RSS site.

SCC users are able search for all MediaServer content, whether RSS or other, with a single search query and view all query matched results intermixed in a single window.

Redirects to RSS Host Site
To display the full original content, a simple click on the RSS icon beneath or by the side of any RSS record in the results set automatically launches the relevent web page on the target host web server.
